Tarpon Springs 40+ Paintball Team Gets New Local Sponsor
Tarpon Springs, FL (PRWEB) February 4, 2005 -- Paintball is fast becoming a mainstream sport for older players, due in part to the low level of injury associated with the game, as well as the finesse needed to be a good player. Such notable paintballers as William Shatner and Randy Barber have been known to strap on the gear and get in the game, and film star George Cloony even has his own team. Dick Clark Productions has recently secured rights to televise and market the NXL (National Xball League), showcasing some of the best professional players in the game today.
While they may not be at that level of performance yet, the Men At Work Paintball Team does have some pretty impressive credentials. Comprised of all players 40 or older, the median age on the team is 50 years young. These players are the parents (and grandparents) of current paintballers, coming together in order to teach by example that sportsmanship and integrity can sometimes beat out youthful enthusiasm. The Men are coached by Paul Richards, Assistant Coach of Pro Team Detroit Strange, who brings a whole other level of experience to the team.
This team takes winning very seriously; getting together on a weekly basis to hone their skills. They are also taking the show on the road this spring, playing in the NPPL (National Professional Paintball League) and PSP (Paintball Sports Promotions), the Miami and Orlando Cups, the World Cup and NPPL in Tampa, and the PMI series.
Break 50 Paintball, a new paintball store in Tarpon Springs, joins Dye, a nationally known paintball gear and accessories company, in sponsoring the team. Break 50 Paintball values the dedication and integrity that these senior paintballers bring to the sport, and they are pleased to offer their support and encouragement to this unique team.
If you are an older player (or would-be player) that would like to learn more about the sport, stop by Break 50 Paintball to talk with their knowledgeable staff about what it takes to get started in this fun and challenging sport!
